We're Back! (February 2021 Update)

A shout out to all subscribers! The Promise Institute site is back up and running after some difficulties!


News Bites!

1. School will be closed as of Wednesday 17 February 2021 and will reopen on Tuesday 23 February 2021 for Mid-Term Break.


2. On Wednesday 17 February 20121 will be Ash Wednesday and all classes will end at 1pm. Our usual Ash Wednesday Service will take place on the outside. There will be Social Distancing. Sorry no parents or guardians are allowed – due to COVID-19. We must keep our children, friends, families and communities safe.


3. This year we sent a shout out to our friends and partners at Goshen College in the USA. We all miss you and pray to see you next year. We all looked forward to the trips to mangroves, beaches, forests and blue holes! We pray that God keep,protect and keep them stay safe until next year!

4. The Promise Institute sends a big thank you to Pastor Princess and Deacon Mario Burrows from the New Highway Pentecostal Church who have been giving cleaning supplies faithfully to keep us safe.

5. The Promise Institute also sends a big thank you to the Fresh Creek Clinic along with Nurse Edgecombe.They have been more than helpful in educating and monitoring not only our students and teachers, but parents about Covid-19. We are incredibly grateful! Thank You! We had Nurse Taylor visiting the students on the 10th of February 2021 and nurse Rolle November 2020 as well.


6. The Promise Institute sends out a big thank you to The Royal Bahamas Police Force and Chief Superintendent Cunningham along with ASP Timothy Wilson. ASP Wilson has also sent in officers to visit and speak with our students- (Sgt Moss, Corporal Moss, Res. Corporal Bain). They have been working tirelessly not only to keep us safe but making sure we follow COVID-19 rules and regulations. Thank You!


7. The Promise Institute sends a very much thank you to Mr. Lundy and the Lundy Foundation for spreading a little love for the staff and students. He remembered Thanksgiving 2020 and Christmas with treats and food.


8. The Promise Institute also sends out a big thank you to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Education for putting education top on their list in times like this. They have been working to ensure our students are educated in a safe environment. A big thank you goes out to those at the Pre-K unit at the Ministry of Education; Mrs. Archer, Mrs. Rodriguez and Director, Mrs. Burrows; who have worked overtime to get us online step by step. We have had countless zoom meetings and technology support so as to deal with our everyday challenges. They have also created classes and activities to assist our school. To this we send out a very much thank you!


9. The Promise Institute is still still in its building mood. We are working to extend and add more classrooms to the back along with a sporting complex for our students, please subscribers do not forget to donate – it will be building a community where all are live, work and play together.

As our school motto states ‘God’ has not given me the spirit if fear but of love, power and a sound mind. I employ you to lean a helping hand and do not forget everything that you now can see are only temporary, in time it will change.
